Slack is a messaging program that can be used in a browser or in their app. You don’t need to download the app, but you will be required to post in the course Slack for various assignments. The app can be useful if you want to get notifications when someone answers your questions.
Since the Slack group is only visible to members of our class, please use a name that is recognizable as you (and you must use your Albany email to sign up for the Slack group). We’ll talk about issues of real names, professional visibility on the internet, and anonymity/pseudonymity later in the semester.
